ACSM Certification Self Study Exam Prep Exercise Training Process Strategy

 ACSM is recognized by the world as an industry authority in the fields of sports medicine, physical fitness training, sports injury and rehabilitation, special population training, and health care. It is also one of the four prestigious fitness and physical training certifications (NCCA recognized).

 2. ACSM Self-Journal Examination Process

·         Click Create Account on the right page (if you do not have an account), pay attention to fill in the information in English letters, a total of four steps, until you complete the registration and log in to your account.

·         After logging in, click View Exam and select ACSM-CPT.  

·         After confirming, click Next to select the test location (there are almost everywhere) and time, and pay (without VISA and Master, you can choose Taobao to pay), 349 US dollars about 2,400 yuan. 

 

 

   3. ACSM English self-test suitable for people 

• ·         Age: over 18 years old
• ·         Hold a certificate: high school diploma or equivalent or above, CPR or AED cardiopulmonary resuscitation certification (both certifications need to be photographed and uploaded after applying for the test, and CPR can find the local Red Cross for training for half a day)
• ·         English proficiency: Level 6 or above is enough. What needs attention is the memory of some English professional nouns. The requirements for English are not very high. It is enough to understand the questions. Of course, the higher the English level, the shorter the preparation time
• ·         Professional ability: one year or more of systematic fitness and strength training experience is enough. Except for English factors, the textbook is not difficult to understand, and the test questions are relatively simple. There are few particularly worrying questions like the CSCS exam. 4. Essential textbook for ACSM English self-examination 

Two textbooks: Resources for the Personal Trainer, 5th Edition (The most important thing is to read this book, the following test and prescription cannot be read if there is no time) 

 ACSM's Guidelines for Exercise Testing and Prescription, 10th Edition. Be careful not to prepare for the exam with Chinese books, it is meaningless! How to obtain teaching materials: Amazon or search e-books on your own. Those who like physical books can print out.  

 

5. ACSM English exam content and preparation 

 

The test location is in the Pearson office building. The computer test takes 150 minutes and 150 questions (30 questions are not scored), all of which are multiple choice questions. The test center will provide pen and paper, and Pearson needs to verify your ID, driver's license, or other necessary information. The examination is divided into four parts: customer consultation and evaluation; training design and application; training guidance and customer education; professional law and responsibility. The proportions of the four modules are as shown in the figure below. Among them, plan design and application are the top priorities, while laws and responsibilities are relatively less important. 

 The 22 chapters in the "Resource" book are divided into six parts. From the content layout, the focus of the textbook is the second to the fifth. These four parts are the first three parts of the above exam content. 

The ACSM official website has a CPT exam outline (click to read the original text in the lower left corner to view), which lists the contents of the exam content, the degree to be mastered, and will give example explanations. It is recommended to read it before school. 

 Or you can read ACSM’s mock test memory test points directly.  So how long will your exam preparation last? The answer varies from person to person. Some people are one month, and some people are half a year. It depends on your familiarity with the textbook and the mastery of the test site. You can do a set of questions before deciding whether to take the test and see your pass rate.  

 

6. Results and certification

The four major certification exams are all scores directly after the test, which is very exciting. Pearson will print out the paper transcript. The transcript will state that the electronic version of the certificate is expected to be delivered by mail in 3-4 weeks. If the corresponding mail is not received in time, you can send an email to certification@ACSM.org for inquiries. For the paper version, you need to pay dozens of dollars to send an email to ACSM to ask for it. 

 

Finally, if your exam is suspended, you need to wait 15 days before you can retake the exam. The fee is $175.
